The Octagon, a Niagara-based retailer specializing in mixed martial arts gear, has served the community for over a decade. However, declining in-store sales prompted a need for transformation as consumer preferences shifted toward online shopping. With an outdated website and branding that no longer resonated with current customers, The Octagon undertook a rebranding initiative and launched a modern e-commerce platform to better meet the demands of today’s mixed martial arts consumer.

Recognizing the disconnect between their branding and the contemporary market, The Octagon rebranded as Octagon MMA to appeal to a new generation of mixed martial artists. The previous branding, which reflected an earlier era, failed to establish trust and relevance with current consumers. The new branding aimed to convey modernity and professionalism, aligning the company with the evolving landscape of the sport.
In addition to the rebranding, we launched a new Shopify website designed for ease of use and visual appeal. This updated platform showcases a range of popular products and enhances the shopping experience for customers. As a result of these initiatives, the company experienced a remarkable 1,100 percent increase in online sales by the end of the first year, demonstrating the effectiveness of the rebranding and website overhaul.
